Saguaro Lake near Mesa, AZ Posted on 16th Feb, 2014 by Susan Talarico
Saguaro Lake is one of two public lakes that is a short drive from Phoenix. It is about 30-45 minute drive from Phoenix and 2.5 hours from Flagstaff and Tucson. Due to its close proximity to the city, it is very popular and can get extremely busy in the summer. There are two main recreation areas near the Lake. Saguaro Del Norte boasts a marina and picnic areas. Butcher Jones has a large public beach and picnic tables. If you plan to water ski, it is best to get there early. After capacity has been reached, you will need to wait in the parking lot until other boaters leave before you will be granted access. Also, be sure to remember your orange skier down flag to alert other boaters when you have a fallen skier in the water.
Other popular activities at Saguaro Lake are camping along the shoreline, fishing, swimming, hiking, paddle boat tours and a lakeside restaurant. The sunset over the mountain is something that you don’t want to miss.
Boat rentals are available by contacting the marina office. Boat slip rentals are also available for: 24', 30', 40', and 55' boats with electricity and water. There is also availability of:
