Screen Shot 2015-12-18 at 7.25.38 PM.png Located in the heart of the Tonto National Forest, Apache Lake is often referred to as the Jewel of the Salt River Lake System. Its popularity stems from its location in the Superstition Mountains.

Amenities include the Apache Lake Resort and Marina, which boasts 58 rooms, a store and restaurant. It is right on the lake next to the marina. Other amenities are camping, pontoon boats, boat rentals, RV site, fishing, bait shop grocery store and picnic areas.

GETTING THERE: Phoenix: take the 202 to Power Road. Brown Road to Apache Trial (AZ 88). Signs will lead you to the lake.

DRIVE TIME: One hour from Phoenix, 2 ½ hours from Tucson, 3 hours from Flagstaff.
