One of Arizona’s best kept secrets, Alamo Lake is known for its bass fishing, solitary mountain scenery and Sonoran desert wildlife. Be aware that daytime temperatures can be quite high due to its low elevation.

Amenities include 80 campsites with water and electricity hook-ups, hiking, a boat launch, group areas for picnicking and a playground.

GETTING THERE: Phoenix/Tucson:  I-10 West to Salome Road, northwest on Salome until you reach US 60 W. Then US 60 to Wenden, North 38 miles to the State Park.

Flagstaff:  I-17 South to Wickenburg exit. Take AZ 74 to US 60 W to Wenden, then North 38 mile to the park.

DRIVE TIME: Less than 3 hours from Phoenix and Flagstaff.  4 hours from Tucson.
